First Grade

Daily Schedule

The first grade schedule is 8:50-3:25 daily. Students are allowed in their classrooms at 8:35. We begin instruction when the 8:50 bell rings so please make sure your child is dropped off prior to 8:50 so he/she has time to unpack.

 

Early Dismissal Schedule

The schedule is 8:50-1:45.

 

Two Hour Delay Schedule

The schedule is 10:50-3:25.

 

Parkland Four Day Cycle

Parkland School District runs on a four day cycle. Please check the Encore Schedule tab to find out what specials your child has on these days. If we miss a school day, the day we return will be the day of the cycle we missed. 

 

Transportation

Please send a note or call the office if there is a change in your child's dismissal routine. 

 

Lunch Information

Please visit Jaindl's website for monthly breakfast and lunch menus. If you need more information about lunch money, you can visit the Parkland School District home page and click Food Services. 

 

Snack

In the afternoon, our class will have a quick snack. The snack should be dry, small, and PEANUT-FREE! Snacks cannot be shared during snack time so please make sure your child has one. Your child can bring a water bottle to drink with their snack. 

 

Birthdays

Due to district policies, please do not send in food for birthday treats. You can send in non-edible treats such as pencils or order a food option from the cafeteria. 

 

Homework

First grade students will receive a homework packet every Monday.  You can work on homework with your child throughout the course of the week. Homework is provided for further reinforcement of concepts presented in class. If your child experiences difficulty with any  homework please feel free to bring this to my attention through notation or email.
